Ethics in disability medical evaluations are under scrutiny today and caution must be taken to ensure that the highest level of ethical standards are consistently upheld. Med-Eval has established rigorous standards with respect to handling medical records, writing IME and peer review purpose letters to the evaluating physicians, reviewing IME and peer reports for quality, as well as other steps in the process. We take every precaution to ensure that the integrity of the evaluating physician’s medical opinion is not violated. In addition, we have crafted a Code of Ethics for Independent Medical Examiners and Peer Reviewers that our perferred physicians are required to sign. The Code of Ethics outlines eleven critical points that are essential in maintaining high ethical standards in the performance of IME’s or peer reviews.
